On 09/04/2021 at 10:27 P.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a golf cart in the 100 block of S. Brown St., Graettinger, Iowa. The driver failed to stop and continued to the 300 block of S. Cedar St. where both occupants then fled on foot, but were located and placed under arrest.
Joshua Claussen (36), of Graettinger is charged with operating while intoxicated 2nd offense – aggravated misdemeanor, fleeing and eluding – serious misdemeanor, driving while barred – aggravated misdemeanor, interference with official acts – simple misdemeanor, failure to stop at a stop sign – simple misdemeanor, driving on the wrong side of the rode – simple misdemeanor, driving in violations of restrictions – simple misdemeanor, no proof of insurance – simple misdemeanor, improper stopping, standing, or parking – simple misdemeanor, transporting an open container of alcohol – simple misdemeanor, and failure to use headlights when required – simple misdemeanor. James Tatman III (30) of Graettinger is charged with interference with official acts – simple misdemeanor, assault on person in certain occupations – serious misdemeanor, and public intoxication – simple misdemeanor. Both subjects were placed in the Palo Alto County Jail to await their initial appearance before a judge.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
