Warrant and Drug Charges

On 4/20/2021 at 11:04 P.M. the Palo Alto Count Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 4800 block of 370th St., Emmetsburg, Iowa. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Amy Terry (37) of Ft. Dodge, Iowa was placed under arrest pursuant to a Wright County arrest warrant for failure to appear for probation revocation. The warrant carried a bond of $2000.00 cash only. Amy was transported without incident to the Palo Alto County Jail. Once at the Jail Amy was found to be in possession of marijuana. Amy was additionally charged with possession of marijuana 2nd offense – aggravated misdemeanor, possession of contraband into a correction facility – D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Amy was also cited for failure to illuminate the rear license plate, failure to possess/display a valid driver’s license while operating a motor vehicle, and failure to provide proof of insurance. Amy was jailed to await her initial appearance before a judge.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
