On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 6:11 pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office in the execution of a search warrant reference to stolen property located at 307 South Jackson Avenue, Graettinger. During the execution of the search warrant, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office then applied for a search warrant at 307 South Jackson Avenue, Graettinger, in order to seize further drugs and paraphernalia at the residence.
Following the execution of both search warrants, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joshua Claussen (34) of Graettinger and April McDonald (37) of Spirit Lake, charging both with possession of a controlled substance= serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia= simple misdemeanor. Claussen was also charged with violation of a protective order= simple misdemeanor. Both Claussen and McDonald were transported, without incident, to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked in to await their initial apparances before a magistrate.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
