On 6/17/2018 at 4:03 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a traffic violation that occurred in the 5300 block of 475th Street. A 2013 Ford Fusion, owned and driven by Nolan Ryan Grimm, age 20 of West Bend, attempted to evade a Deputy from the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office. The Deputy continued to pursue the Grimm vehicle on gravel surfaces in the southeast portion of Palo Alto County. The Grimm vehicle continued leading authorities south on 490th Avenue into Pocahontas County. The vehicle pulled into a farm drive near the intersection of 250th Avenue and 410th Street which is north of Plover.
After the investigation into the incident, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nolan Ryan Grimm on the charges of Speed, Failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and Failure to obey a traffic control device. Grimm was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked without incident.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office and the Pocahontas Police Department.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
