On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 3:35 a.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a vehicle accident in the 5100 block of 280th Street. After investigation into the accident, it was determined Tyler Martin Krenz (30) of Windom, MN., was eastbound on 280th Street operating a 2001 Peterbilt semi, owned by Dayton Hartung of Fairmont, MN., when Krenz fell asleep causing the semi and livestock trailer to enter the north ditch. The unit would come to rest in the north ditch after getting hung up on a farm drive located at 5131 280th Street. Damage to the Peterbilt was estimated at $10,000. No injuries were reported at the scene. Krenz was cited for failing to maintain control.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
