On Monday, March 7, 2022, at 09:48 am, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 370th Street and 480th Avenue. Following an investigation into the accident, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined that Allen Goeders (64) of Mallard was driving a 2006 International semi northbound in the 3700 block of 480th Avenue. Goeders approached the intersection and attempted to stop at the stop sign behind a 2017 Peterbilt semi driven by John Hengeveld (66) of Sanborn, who was already stopped at the stop sign. As Goeders was coming to a stop, his foot slipped off of the brake, causing the semi to roll forward and collide with the grain trailer attached to Hengeveld’s semi. There was an estimated $15,000 damage to Hengeveld’s trailer. There was an estimated $8,000 to Goeders’ semi. There were no injuries reported in the accident.
