On Sunday, May 26th, 2019, at 8:21 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at 1303 Center Street, Ruthven regarding a juvenile female on the property and refusing to leave. During the investigation, Deputies determined that the juvenile female committed an assault against the reporting party prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Following the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested the juvenile female, charging her with trespassing and assault, which are both simple misdemeanors. The juvenile female was also charged with interference with official acts, which is a simple misdemeanor and two counts of assault on persons in certain profession, which are serious misdemeanors. The juvenile female was later trasnported to juvenile detention in Eldora, Ia. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
